Top 5 branding sessions of 2020

2020 has been, well, 2020, but despite the chaos, the lock downs, and the shortages of toilet paper I have got to work with some pretty rad businesses this year! Here is a recap of my top 5 favourite shoots of 2020. It was so hard to narrow it down to just 5, I truly love each and every one of the sessions I have got to do this year but these ones bring me just a little extra joy.

5) Tooro Artisan Goods

I bought my first Tooro Artisan Goods product at a virtual market this year and I was in love! The products are such high quality and thoughtfully made, and Anna, the women behind it all is one of the kindest humans I have met. Those warm summer hues just make the bowls pop and make me long for picnics in the park! This session pushed me outside of my comfort zone to creatively display these products in the great outdoors but it started a chain of many more photo sessions like this!

4) Rock and Prairie Clothing Co.

Amy, the owner of Rock and Prairie is just one of those people that I felt an instant connection with, whether it was our mutual love of cozy clothes and cute dogs or our rural roots, I felt as if I had known her forever. Amy was so incredibly organized for this shoot to launch her fall line. If you follow me on Instagram you will know that I have been trying to reduce my fast fashion purchases so I love that all of Rock and prairies products are made locally right in Calgary!

3) Re-loved local Halloween

This shoot was what dreams are made of! I got together with a group of local Airdrie Small businesses to pull off this epic session, complete with full scull makeup and smoke bombs. Everything featured in the shoot was either upcycled, repurposed, or locally made and it was pure magic! Featuring: Trunk by Airdrie Furniture Revival, macramé by Wild Precious, clothing by Wears Warholik, Makeup by Beauty by Marina, Florals by Blessings Blossoms Florals.

2) Cattle Cait

I could have very easily filled this list with just sessions that I have shot for Trailblaher Magazine but I narrowed it down to just one. This was my first session for Trailblaher, I can remember when Jan and Erin called to ask me to shoot for them. After I hung up the phone I called a friend to scream my good news at her (sorry Katie Jo!) the icing on the cake was my first shoot would be with Cattle Cait, a small business owner who I had looked up to for years! Cait turned out to be every bit as lovely in real life as she is on social media

1) High Class Broads

Shooting with Taylor is always a dream come true! She puts so much thought into her sessions but also gives me the ability to be totally creative. Our sessions always result in pure magic! This particular session was cooked up during the first lock down to give us both something to dream about and look forward to. When we finally got together it was more than we both could have dreamed!
