If you’d love to get some photos done but don’t have the time or budget for a full-length photo session, a mini session is for you! A mini session is a series of short, back-to-back photo sessions taking place on a single day, allowing you the opportunity to capture family memories for a lower price point.
Booking a mini photo session may be for you if:
You only want to purchase a few photos. For my mini sessions, the package includes seven photos, but I do provide you with the opportunity to purchase the full album. Though 20 minutes may seem short, you would be surprised how many photos we can capture in that amount of time.
You just want photos of your immediate family. While 20 minutes isn’t enough for an extended family photo session, it’s the perfect amount of time to capture a variety of images of your immediate family, as shown in my fall mountain mini sessions with the Keough family. This time frame is also perfect for photos of couples, just your children, you and your pets, or yourself!
You are willing to have your session in a location of my choosing. While I can’t travel to your home for a mini session, I always choose beautiful locations with multiple backgrounds. My fall mountain mini sessions provided a number of stunning backdrops for the Keough family’s photos, including a meadow that put the mountains on display and trails through the trees, both perfect for their children to play in.
You are looking for high-quality photographs at a lower price point. Full-length photo sessions allow me to get to know your family, provide time for your kids to settle in and be comfortable with me as a photographer, and let me capture your authentic selves in your own environment. However, I realize that doing so may be not be in many families’ budgets, and mini sessions are an opportunity for beautiful family photographs that are budget-friendly without compromising on quality.
You are up for an adventure! For my mini sessions, I choose beautiful landscapes outside of the city that may also appeal to you for a day trip. I will provide you with a list of things to do in the area, including my recommendations for restaurants and noteworthy places to visit. As part of my upcoming Valentine’s Day mini sessions, I’m also providing you with a fun activity to do in the Canmore area to safely celebrate the day!
